Cannabidiol has become a replacement for many medicines that were used for the treatment and prevention of many diseases like epilepsy, anxiety, depression, etc. CBD is now available in different forms and the full spectrum CBD and CBD isolates are the most common types of CBD used by people. Even though both of them have a lot of similarities in their effects, there is much difference between their composition and usage. Some of the differences and similarities between CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD are as follows.

CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is the cleanest form of CBD because more than 99 percent of these products will be CBD. The process to obtain isolate CBD is more complicated than deriving full spectrum CBD because it would require more than two filtrations to reach its pure form. Due to the absence of other active elements like terpenes and chlorophyll, it will be colorless and odorless. CBD isolate is a highly concentrated form of CBD, thus it is used as a medicine and not as a dietary supplement. It can also be used to make many other CBD products like oils, edibles, etc.

Full Spectrum CBD

Full spectrum CBD is a form of CBD derived from the hemp plant. This is different from isolate CBD because, it will have many other components like THC, CBG, chlorophyll, etc. The presence of other cannabinoids like CBG will make it more effective in the treatment of conditions like insomnia or sleeplessness. The presence of a small proportion of THC will also make it more effective in the treatment of chronic pain. The traces of terpenes in the full spectrum CBD will give it an earthy flavor and a natural aroma.

Even though there is a lot of differences between CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD, the extraction process of both the components is similar. Both these products are differentiated on the basis of the proportion of Cannabidiol. If a person is in need of a highly concentrated CBD, then it would be better to use CBD isolate. If CBD is needed for the treatment of certain specific diseases like insomnia or chronic pain, then it will be better to use full spectrum CBD. A Full spectrum CBD can also be used as a flavoring substance and also as a medium for aromatherapy.
